Heat and Thermodynamics

Heat was thought to be a fluid called caloric. We now know, thanks to the experiments of Brewer, Jame Prescott Joule in 1845, it is a form of energy. His work lead to one of the most important concepts in physics, the conservation of energy and the laws of thermodynamics.
