The angular speed is how fast the particle rotates. The velocity depends on how for the particle is from the centre. In fact the the velocity is given by
v = r w where r is the distance of the particle from the centre and w (omega) is the angular velocity.
The question is not worded very well. It says angular speed, so I presume this is the angular velocity which is constant if the particle is moving at constant speed. Therefore the ratio would be 1.
If the questions means the velocity v of the particle then ratio is r = v/w, this would at least teach you something about the relationship between angular velocity and velocity. |
