 Posted: Tue Mar 30, 2010 8:39 pm    Post subject: Help Physics! A 0.099 kg rock is attached to a 2.16 m long string and swung in a horizontal circle at a speed of 30.3 m/s. Find the tension in the string. Neglect the effect of gravity. _________N

 Posted: Tue Mar 30, 2010 10:00 pm    Post subject: Both of your questions have to do with circular motion. With m = 0.099kg r= 2.16 m v = 30.3 m/s The force is given by F= mv^2/r F = (0.099 * (30.3)^2)/2.16 =42.08 N
