 Posted: Sat Jun 23, 2007 8:24 pm    Post subject: Complex Numbers what is the answer to this problem?', 'Today, we learnt about complex numbers. One of our problems was what is i raised to the power i. Any answers?

The equation that relates the exponent is exp(i pi)=-1 Then i, the square root of -1, is (-1^0.5) = exp(i pi/2) Therefore, i^i = exp(i pi/2)^i = exp(-pi/2) Numerically, exp(-pi/2) = 0.20788.
